We are honored to share that Moo Elixir was recently featured in Editor’s Beauty in a spotlight titled:
“Moo Elixir Is Redefining Clean Beauty with Luxury Tallow Skincare.”
The feature explores how ancestral ingredients, modern formulation science, and intentional sourcing are shaping the future of clean beauty and why tallow skincare is more than just a trend.
Below are highlights from the article!
From Clean Beauty Concerns to a New Standard in Skincare
The foundation of Moo Elixir began with a deeper look at ingredient labels and a growing concern about what had become standard in everyday skincare.
Co founder Miranda Robertson shared:
“We started Moo Elixir because I couldn’t ignore what I was seeing on skincare labels anymore. The more we learned, the more concerned we became. Many of the most common ingredients in everyday skincare have been linked to serious health risks, including cancer. That realization sparked my clean skincare journey.”
At the same time, co founder Brian Robertson began experimenting with raw tallow on his skin and experienced significant benefits.
“We were blown away by the benefits. But we thought what if we could take it a step further? What if we could elevate it, make it more bioavailable so it could truly penetrate the skin, and pair it with powerful botanicals to create a luxurious, nourishing skincare line without any harmful ingredients? That was the foundation of Moo Elixir.”
This vision became the blueprint for what Moo is today: luxury tallow skincare rooted in ancestral wisdom and refined by modern science.
What Makes Moo’s Tallow Skincare Different
Tallow skincare is having a moment, especially across TikTok and social media. But as Editor’s Beauty notes, not all tallow formulations are created equally.
Miranda explains:
“The tallow skincare trend has blown up recently and rightfully so. However, as with any trend, there’s also been a wave of brands entering the space just to capitalize on the moment. Consumers should be cautious and always check where the tallow is sourced from and where and how the product is formulated.”
At Moo, sourcing and formulation are intentional.
The brand uses premium grass fed, grass finished beef tallow sourced from a trusted farm in Colorado. Every product is formulated in a lab in small batches with an expert chemist to ensure quality, safety, and performance.
“Poor sourcing or improper formulation can result in contamination, rancidity, or skin reactions. Ultimately, the product may not deliver the benefits that properly formulated tallow skincare can.”
For Moo, transparency is not optional. It is foundational.
Modern Science Meets Ancestral Ingredients
Editor’s Beauty highlighted one of the most important aspects of Moo’s philosophy: bioavailability.
While raw tallow is deeply nourishing, its molecular size limits absorption when applied alone. Moo addresses this through intentional formulation.
Miranda shared:
“Our grass fed, grass finished beef tallow is rich in nutrients but has a large molecular structure that doesn’t easily absorb on its own. That’s why we incorporate select emollients and emulsifiers that help the tallow penetrate more deeply, so the skin can fully receive its benefits.”
This approach allows Moo’s luxury tallow skincare to support the skin barrier, deliver essential fatty acids, and provide deep nourishment across all skin types including sensitive, dry, oily, and combination.
A Complete Clean Skincare Routine
Rather than creating standalone products, Moo formulates with the goal of supporting a complete AM and PM routine.
As Miranda explains:
“We approach formulation with the goal of creating a complete, effective, and skin supportive regimen. Whether it's cleansing, nourishing, or protecting the skin, each product in our line is designed to serve a specific purpose in that routine.”
From oil cleansers and hydrating facial creams to nutrient rich body butters, each formula is designed to work together in harmony.
Wellness Goes Western
The article also touched on a broader cultural shift.
There has been a resurgence of ancestral Western wellness practices including colostrum, fermented foods, herbal remedies, and tallow.
Miranda shared:
“People are craving authentic, effective rituals grounded in nature and simplicity. There’s a growing recognition that modern wellness doesn’t always have to mean high tech or imported. Sometimes, the most powerful remedies come from traditional practices and ingredients that have been part of Western cultures for generations.”
Moo Elixir stands at the intersection of heritage and innovation, demonstrating that luxury clean beauty can be both simple and scientifically informed.
Real Stories. Real Impact.
Since launching in December 2024, Moo has received meaningful feedback from customers, including those navigating sensitive skin conditions and major life changes.
“We’ve been deeply moved by the stories our customers have shared. Hearing that our creations are bringing significant relief and comfort means the world to us.”
For Moo, luxury is not about excess. It is about quality, intention, and integrity.
“For us, luxury isn’t about complexity or having a million products. It’s about quality, honesty, and keeping things beautifully simple.”
Expanding Access to Clean Beauty
The feature also highlighted an exciting milestone: Moo Elixir’s launch into Sprouts this August, expanding access to clean, grass fed tallow skincare for ingredient conscious shoppers nationwide.
As Editor’s Beauty noted, Moo is not just riding a trend. It is helping define the future of clean beauty.
Rooted in heritage. Elevated by science. Uncompromising in purity.
