By using emollients, we’re able to increase the absorption of tallow, ensuring that your skin receives all the hydrating, anti-aging, and healing benefits it offers. If emollients weren’t included in our products, the ingredients would have less of an effect, and you wouldn't experience the full advantages of our carefully

That’s why we source our tallow from ethically raised, grass-fed, grass-finished cows from small, responsible farms in the USA. By using tallow, a by-product of the meat industry, we follow a nose-to-tail philosophy, ensuring that every part of the animal is utilized and nothing goes to waste.

Can you use The Body Butter on your face? 

While the Moo Elixir Body Butter is safe for most skin types and highly effective for deep hydration on the body, we generally recommend using it on the body due to its rich texture and ingredients like coconut oil. Coconut oil is known for its intense moisturizing properties, but it is comedogenic, meaning it can clog pores and potentially lead to breakouts when used on the face. 

For facial use, we suggest our Hydrating Facial Cream, which is specially formulated for the more delicate skin on the face, providing gentle, yet effective hydration without the risk of clogged pores. 

Why would I want to use an oil cleanser if my face is oily?

It may sound counterintuitive, but oil cleansers are actually great for oily skin! In fact, they can help balance oil production, leaving your skin refreshed and nourished. Here's why: Oil helps to dissolve and remove excess oil, dirt, and makeup without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. How often should I use each product in my skincare routine? 

We recommend the following general routine: 

● Oil Cleanser: Use morning and night to cleanse your face. 

● Toner: Apply after cleansing, once or twice daily. 

● Serums (Vitamin C or Niacinamide): Use each once a day.

AM: Vitamin C serum

PM: Niacinamide serum

● Hydrating Facial Cream: Apply morning and night as your moisturizer. 

● Body Butter: Apply as needed, ideally after a shower or when skin feels dry. Consistency is key! Be sure to allow each product to absorb fully before applying the next for the best results.
