Moo Elixir Featured in Women’s Journal

February 17, 2026

We are honored to share that Moo Elixir was recently featured in Women’s Journal in a conversation about clean beauty, ancestral ingredients, and the future of intentional skincare.

In the feature, Women’s Journal sat down with co founder Miranda Robertson to discuss Moo Elixir’s origin story, values led philosophy, and why tallow based skincare is more than a passing trend.

Below are highlights from the interview.

On the Inspiration Behind Moo Elixir

When asked what motivated the launch of Moo Elixir, Miranda shared:

“The motivation to launch Moo Elixir came from a personal journey toward cleaner, more conscious skincare. I started noticing that many products on the market contained ingredients I was concerned about, some even linked to health concerns. At the same time, my brother and co founder, Brian, was experimenting with raw tallow on his skin and experiencing tremendous benefits.

We saw an opportunity to take this traditional ingredient and elevate it, combining it with thoughtfully selected botanicals and modern science to create a luxurious, effective skincare line without the harmful additives so common today. Moo Elixir was born out of a desire to offer something pure, nourishing, and rooted in both ancestral wisdom and modern innovation, a skincare brand that we could trust and be proud of.”

From the beginning, Moo was built around one simple idea: skincare should feel trustworthy.

On Confidence and Simplicity

Women’s Journal asked how Moo helps women feel more confident in their skin.

Miranda explained:

“Our formulations focus on simplicity, effectiveness, and purity, helping skin look and feel its best naturally. That kind of skincare ritual isn’t just about appearance; it’s about embracing self care and feeling grounded in your skin. By combining ancestral ingredients with modern science, Moo offers a skincare experience that celebrates authenticity and intentionality, helping women feel confident not just in their skin, but in the ingredients they trust to care for it.”

At Moo, confidence is not about perfection. It is about supporting the skin gently and consistently.

The Values Behind Every Formula

When discussing the shared values across the product line, Miranda emphasized purity, intention, and integrity.

“At the heart of every Moo Elixir product are a few core values that guide everything we create: purity, intention, and integrity. We are committed to using only clean, nutrient rich ingredients. No fillers, no harsh chemicals, and no compromises. Each formula is created with purpose, designed to support the skin in a real and gentle way, using ingredients that work in harmony with the body.

We also believe in transparency and trust, from sourcing to formulation. Our products are rooted in ancestral wisdom, elevated by modern science, and crafted to offer a skincare experience that is both minimal and luxurious.”

Every product is designed to support the skin barrier rather than overwhelm it.

What Makes Moo’s Tallow Different

Tallow is gaining renewed attention in the skincare world. Women’s Journal asked what consumers should know before choosing a tallow based product.

Miranda shared:

“Tallow is gaining attention in the skincare world and for good reason. It is deeply nourishing, rich in fat soluble vitamins, and its composition closely mirrors the natural oils in our skin. But as with any trend, not all tallow products are created equally.

What makes Moo’s tallow stand out is our uncompromising quality. We use only premium, grass fed, grass finished tallow, rendered with care and formulated in small batches to meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, and performance.”

Quality sourcing and careful formulation remain central to everything we do.

On Trends and the Return to Ancestral Skincare

When asked about trends, Miranda made it clear that Moo does not chase them.

“At Moo, we stay aware of skincare trends, but we do not chase them. We focus on what truly works. While tallow may be trending right now, we see it as more of a return than a fad. Tallow has been used for centuries in skincare for its nourishing, bioavailable properties, and we believe it is being reintroduced to a new generation that is seeking real, effective, and ancestral ingredients.

We are excited to see this shift toward simpler, more intentional skincare. As the conversation around clean beauty continues to evolve, consumers are becoming more ingredient aware and looking for products that are both rooted in tradition and backed by science. That is precisely where Moo lives.”

The Ideal Moo Ritual

Women’s Journal also asked about the ideal Moo skincare routine.

Morning routine:

The Oil Cleanser
Toning Mist
Vitamin C Serum
Hydrating Facial Cream

Evening routine:

The Oil Cleanser
Toning Mist
Niacinamide Serum
Hydrating Facial Cream

Body care and hydration:

Body Butter applied post shower
Hydration Mist anytime throughout the day

The philosophy is simple. Fewer products. Higher quality ingredients. Consistent support for the skin.

Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing

Sustainability is another cornerstone of the brand.

“Sustainability and responsible sourcing are at the heart of what we do at Moo. Our tallow is always grass fed, grass finished, and ethically sourced from a United States farm that upholds humane and regenerative practices.

We are incredibly selective about our botanical ingredients too, ensuring they are clean, non toxic, and sourced with environmental care in mind. When it comes to packaging, we have prioritized glass over plastic wherever possible, and we are actively working toward more sustainable, low waste options as we grow. Our approach is never just about looking good on a label. It is about doing what feels right for the planet, for our customers, and for the long term vision of clean, honest skincare.”

What Is Next for Moo Elixir

The feature also highlighted a major milestone for the brand.

“We are thrilled to be launching into Sprouts Market and Mother’s Market this August. It is a huge step forward in making Moo more accessible to people who care deeply about clean, intentional skincare. Beyond that, we are in the lab working on some exciting new products. We are just getting started, and we are so grateful to grow with a community that shares our values.”

Being featured in Women’s Journal is an honor, but more importantly, it reflects a broader cultural shift. Consumers are moving toward simpler, ingredient conscious skincare rooted in heritage and supported by science.

Rooted in tradition. Elevated by modern formulation. Committed to purity.
